Photographer unknown. Descriptive identification is written in blue ballpoint ink on the upper right corner of the image. The mounting has an old white cataloging label on its upper right corner and a white, typed description label glued below the image. Size: L-8 x W-9 1/2 in. History of Object: View of a narrow-gauge Southern Pacific locomotive (#19) that blew up in Alameda on July 15, 1903, fortunately killing nobody. The engineer was a Mr. Duncan; the fireman was Mr. Gale. Acquired from: Mrs. Lew Vosburgh (1952) Date: 11/15/97 Pre-1971 donation, old cat. #200 series.
