Description: Glossy black/white photo, unmounted. Photographer unknown. Image has thumbtack holes and creasing in all corners, an old white cataloging label glued to its upper right corner, and minor emulsion scuffing.
Size: L-7 1/2 x W-9 1/4 in.
History of Object: Ferry boat "Oakland". It was built in 1975, originally as a Sacramento River steamer, but was completely overhauled and returned to service in San Francisco Bay in July, 1920. It made its last run for Southern Pacific on Jan. 14, 1939. Subsequently it served as a charter during the G.G.I.E. in 1939.
