Description: Sepia-toned albumen print photo mounted on white paperboard with embossed border design. Photographer (probably) Hirsch & Kaiser, Options, San Francisco, (as imprinted on verso). The image is damaged by identifying numerals written upon it in white ink, and by spotting. The mounting has white typed identifying labels affixed to its upper and lower margins, and an old green cataloging label glued to its upper left corner.
Size: L-5 1/4 x W-6 1/4 in.
History of Object: Group of men "the Gang", early-day commuters posed aboard the ferry "Encinal". A label glued to the bottom margin identifies by name these passengers.
