History of Object: Photo of the main facade of 1479 High Street (now demolished), home of Abel Thornton, pioneer farmer of the East End. The house originally stood on the present site of Liberty Avenue. It was moved to 1479 High Street, diagonally across the street from its original location, in 1890. The photo depicts the house at its new site, after alterations.
Note: The donors, sisters, were born in the above house.
