History of Object: Framed photographic portrait of Urban Bird, ordained minister of the Methodist Church, and pioneer resident of Alameda. Bird was born in England, May 27, 1836, he died January 9, 1895 and is buried in Mt. View Cemetery, Oakland, CA. The Urban Bird family settled in Alameda around 1878.
