History of Object: Portrait of Dr. Tom Carpenter, a veterinarian, who was also the City Food Inspector. He was active in the Alameda County SPCA. His residence was at his veterinary hospital at 2167 Santa Clara Avenue (per the 1912 Alameda City Directory).
