Description: Sepia-toned oval photograph, mounted on charcoal paperboard, on which the photographer's name (Comfort, Alameda) is imprinted in white on the lower right corner. An old white cataloging label is glued to the upper right corner. Glue stains with label remnants appear along the margin of the mounting. The upper edge of the mounting has been cropped. Some minor scuffing on the image.
Size: L-7 1/4 x W-7 in.
History of Object: Portrait of Col. Edwin W. Maslin, Deputy Naval Officer at San Francisco; Director, Board of Trade; Member of the Alameda Free Library Board from 1897 to 1909. He was Secretary to Geo. W. Irvin from 1875 to 1880, and Trustee of the State Library from 1878 to 1880. He was Secretary to the State Board of Education from 1869 to 1891.
