Acc. No. 97.401.1 Subject Category: Schools - Unidentified Date or Period: 1888 Object; Photograph Description: Sepia-toned albumen print photo mounted on tan paperboard. Photographer: Geo. Ball, Alameda ( per imprinted stamp in blue ink on the verso ). The image has identifying numerals in white ink written upon it, and the mounting has an inscription in blue ink on its bottom margin, as well as an old green cataloging glued to its upper left corner. Size: L-7 x W-9 in. History of Object: Third grade class, 1888, posed outside of what is probably the old Haight School (later Mastick) because of a grillwork architectural feature found also in the image (Acc. No. 97.400.1) identified as most likely showing Haight School students. However, in this instance, students are unidentified, as we are told only that this picture comprised part of "Miss Chappel's" collection. Acquired from: Miss M.L.
