Terry, the following captions for each picture are in his own words. He was at the site during the historical flight. Photo's taken June 28, 1927 of the first flight ever made from mainland Alameda to Hawaii. Lts. Albert F. Hegenberger and L. J. Maitland took off from Alameda runway (now the Alameda Golf course) and flew 21:07 miles, to land at Wheeler Field, Honolulu, in 25 hrs, 50 minutes in a Folker Tri-engine Monoplane. 1.
