History of Objects: Photos taken of the Christening on 2/8/1954 of Barge 21, built by PACECO. Photos owned by Madeline Martin (b. 1905, d. prior 2020), an industrial nurse, working for PACECO in Alameda. Pacific Coast Engineering Company moved from Oakland to 2350 Blanding Ave in 1940. The name changed to PACECO in 1950. The company was bought in 1967 by Fruehauf and focused on the container crane market after 1976. Kitty Keiko Hirai (b. February 28, 1925) likely worked for PACECO as well, she was a member of an Alameda Japanese-American family, of 2415 Eagle Ave. Donor: Marianne Landis, Donated on: 7/29/2020; Accession Date: 9/19/2020
