History of Object: Photo (2 copies) of the exterior (main facado) of 1823 San Jose Avenue, Alameda. Erected in 1890 by J. A. Leonard the builder. It was purchased in 1904 by Herbert D. Clark & family who occupied it until 1983. The photo depicts the house with an exterior of cedar shingles (that were put on it in 1904).
