Description: Three-hole binder with 8x10 inch enlarged photos organized in plastic sleeves, preceded by an index. The binder itself is covered in red buckram, and which in turn slots into a cardboard box, open on one side, covered in black matte paper.
Size box: L 13 3/4" x W 12 3/4" x H 2 1/2"
History of Object: Photo enlargements of 4x5 inch negatives, created between 2003 and 2004 as addendum to the Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) no. CA-295, (Todd Shipyard), National Park Service / U.S. Army Corps. The original book was written by Basin Research Associates, Michael Corbett, Mesa Technical. Featured in this book of photos are buildings 19 and 20 (Bending Shop and Oven), 135T and 21 (Office and Firehouse), 25 (Boiler Maker's House) of the United Engineering Company Shipyard, (later Todd Shipyard), 2900 Main Street'. David G. De Vries photographer.
The binder was a duplicate of a book given to the Alameda Free Library, was passed on to the museum. A print-out of the library record for the original (2001) book was also given, and has been added to the back of the book.
