Description: A collection of 89 glossy black-and-white photos of head-and-shoulders of men, all dressed formally, with black or white bow-tie (except for one polka-dot and one ordinary tie), some wearing a medal, and negatives for 4 of these. Most photos have identification and a year written in pen, ballpoint, or marker the bottom margin, as well as on the reverse in pencil and black marker.

History of Object: Photographs of some past officers (Master, Secretary) of the Oak Grove Lodge, #215, Free and Accepted Masons, of the Masonic Order from the first Master, Eliphalet Minor Smith, 1871, To Master Balch, 1970. Among the officers are Alameda City community leaders, political figures, and business owners, so relevance extends beyond the Masonic Order.
