No. 98.37.1 (a-h) Subject Category: City of Alameda (Public Works) Date or Period: Mid-1920's Object: Photographs: Description: Series of black/white photos with sepia toning, all now unmounted (but images #c through #h have tan scrapbook paper and brownish glue remnants on their verso). Images #c through #g have a description typed directly upon their emulsion near the top edge; #b, #d, #f and #g have notations in black ink written along their bottom margin. Most all have glue remnants on their emulsion, glue penetrating through their emulsion from the back. Image #d has damage from minor tears along its bottom edge. Size: L-3 1/2 x W-5 1/2 in. History of Object: Varies public works scenes: #a - street work; #b - truck loaded with brush; #c - steam roller; #d - truck loaded with brush; #e - planting trees in the Fernside tract; #f - new scavenger truck, loaded; #g- horsedrawn refuse dump disposal scraper at work; #h - Alameda street dept. trucks.
