Description: sepia-tinted photo on 'Kodak Velox Paper', of a building, flanked by a tall flag mast, and fronted with palm trees and a telegraph pole. A boy with hat and white shirt is posing in front of the building. Verso has handwritten in blue pen: 'Old Alameda Hi School about 1903 [1905 crossed out]. Donated by Mrs. Lindsay Parker. Jan 16 -1963. Image has a circular discoloration on the right-hand side.

History of Object: Reproduction of an early photo, or photo post card, of Old Alameda High School, c. 1903, shortly after its completion, showing very young palm trees. Kodak Velox paper became available in the 1950s, identifying this photo as a copy. Donated in 1963, the image was apparently not cataloged in the accession card system started in 1972, and at some point it became mixed with a collection of photos owned by Joe Durein.
