Description: large book with cover of olive-tan buckram or linnen, with remnants of a red leather corners and leather or paper label on front and spine. On the spine, remnants of 'Alameda - Cal' can be out ('Alam', and 'Al'). The inside cover has handwritten: ' Property of Jack O. Lubbock, Alameda, Calif'. The fly leaf has printed information glued in, dating from October 1950, one with a stamp in green 'Jack O. Lubbock'. The first page is a detail map.
Size: L 23 1/2 x B 25 1/2 inches, 5 inch thick.
History of Object: a copy of the Sanborn Maps for Alameda; these were used by insurance companies and the like, and were updated regularly with small sections that were to be glued on top of older maps. This book is missing the title page with overview map and corrections record. Connection to Alameda needs to be researched. Jack Lubbock was a member of the Board of Education in 1968.
Book has been in the museum for years, without official catalog entry.
