No. 25.10.4 Subject Category: Christmas, Seasonal Date or Period: 1950s Object: Christmas Tree Ornament Description: A gold-colored glass ornament in the shape of a stylized ballerina with arms raised and one leg bent at the knee (as in a fouette). The stylized ballerina has short a painted face with blue eyes and red mouth, hair created with frosted orange material, is wearing a tutu with painted central underskirt and painted buttons of white frosted material, and shoes created by painting the end of the pointed glass legs gold. The hands are formed by two small gold-colored knobs. The underside of the tutu is silver-colored glass. Size: 6.5 in x 2 in History of Object: Ornament of unknown origin, possibly donated by the Smith-Frye, or Fischer families, or Fred Krueger. Ornament was presumably to be placed onto a Christmas tree during the Christmas season. Donor: unknown Donation Date: unknown
