Brass handles and hinges. Appears hand-made by John Ucovich himself. A photo or postcard of a metal machine is affixed to the lid of the chest. Size: Chest 14”H x 34”L x 18”W Trays 7”H x 31”L x 3.5”W, 2.5”H x 31”L x 11”W History of Object: Antique tool chest used by John Ucovich (1877-1938), grandfather of the donor, an immigrant carpenter from Montenegro. He moved to Alameda around 1925, and ran a trucking business in Oakland. By 1938 John (aged 61) lived with his wife, Myrtle May, at 775 Santa Clara.
