No. 25.81.1 Subject Category: Industries, Lumber Mill Date or Period: 1920s Object: Sign Description: sign, currently painted a blue-green, composed of individual wooden letters mounted on a long wooden piece of wood about 1 1/2 inch square, forming the name ‘Loop Lumber & Mill Co.’ New metal eye hooks are screwed into the second ‘I’, the ‘B’, the ‘&’ and the final ‘O’, to accommodate hanging. Size of volume: L 9 feet end-to-end: Height letters: approximately 9 inches, thickness letters about 1 1/2 inch. History of Object: Original sign from the gates of the Loop Lumber Mill. It has been on display in the museum for years, but was not given a catalog number until now. It has been cut into sections to accommodate hanging in limited space.
