May 15, 1990 - Alaska Airlines today in Seattle rolled out its first "new look" aircraft, this McDonnell Douglas MD-80. The jet goes into scheduled service Thursday. This photo was taken Saturday in Santa Barbara, California following completion of a two-week facelift inside and out. Alaska's fleet update, part of an expansive corporate make over, will be phased in over two years.
