For a short period (1949 - 1950), Alaska Airlines operated five each of these Bell 47B helicopters on the North Slope airfield. The experiment was less than successful, and they were sold to a company that eventually became Anchorage Helicopter Service. Based out of Anchorage (Merrill Field).
