General Notes

Note

Illustration may be arrowhead plants rising out of shallow water. Poem seems to be from Wakan Rōeishū (和漢朗詠集) compiled in 1013 (a collection of Chinese and Japanese poems) 霞はれ みどりの空も 長閑くて あるか なきかに あそぶ いとゆふ Kasumi hare midori no sora mo nodoke kute aruka nakikani asobu ito yuu When the morning mist is lifted, a faint heat haze became the highlight of a calm spring day with a clear sky full of vivid green new leaves
