1924-1925 Girls Basketball TeamDescription
The first Girls Basketball Team at AHS was during the 1922-1923 season. The interscholastic girls' basketball program only lasted four years. In 1926, the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) prohibited all interscholastic athletic competition for girls. It is reported that a girls' basketball program in Altoona resumed in 1964, but at that time interscholastic games were not played. The WIAA approved basketball participation for girls in 1976.
