Two-color title page. Top edges gilt. Designed by Sarah Wyman Whitman in a three part binding of cream vellum-like cloth to the spine with red cloth boards featuring a square (2.5 x 2.5 inches approx.) panel in an intricate gilt stamped stylized design of an iris blossom and small hearts which is placed to the center right of the front board and repeated to the rear, a common design technique of Whitman's. Spine also has the iris/heart motif in gilt.
