Unsigned binding attributed to Sarah Wyman Whitman. Volumes bound in a matching brick red linen-grain cloth in a distinctive Whitman mirror-image binding to front and rear employing three medieval-like gilt clasp design across spine and covers. Also a Whitman design feature is the block of title and author which is off-set to the center right of the cover. Top edge gilt. Green coated endpapers. Binding was also issued in vellum.
