Design by Sarah Wyman Whitman. Bound in her signature three-part binding, dark green cloth spine gilt stamped with chrysanthemum and lettering. Lighter green cover stamped in black with three chrysanthemums and lettering ("Mrs. A.D.T. Whitney's Stories"). Binding shows a strong art nouveau vertical line with the design of the long stemmed flower which is repeated to the spine. Grey coated endpapers.
