Pollyanna lives by a philosophy taught by her late father called the "Glad Game," which involves finding something to be glad about in every situation, no matter how difficult. Her infectious optimism eventually transforms the lives of the town's most miserable residents, including a reclusive hermit and her own icy aunt. However, her spirit is put to the ultimate test when a serious accident leaves her unable to walk, forcing the community she helped to come together to support her.
