Binding Notes

Art nouveau gilt stamped design of woman's portrait in ivory by Margaret Armstrong. Binding signed with the initials "MA" (monogram at bottom right corner of the floral border at center). One of a set of Reed's titles issued at various times by Putnam. Most commonly seen in lavender cloth. This is bound in pale grey cloth with gilt spine decoration and titles. Notable for the iris design created by embossing the ivory cloth and stamping the background a subtle pale green. In original slipcase printed in green floral pattern with replication of cover design, missing spine edge. Top edge gilt. Deckled page edges.

Notes
