Front cover has elaborate art nouveau gilt and ivory design signed by Margaret Armstrong with the initials "MA," at the bottom of the decorated panel. One of a set of Reed titles isssued at various times by Putnam. All are bound in lavender cloth with elaborate gilt spine decoration and titling. Set has also been seen in pale grey cloth. Top edge gilt. Deckled page edges.
