Description

Seven chapbooks in envelopes, plastic, and a cloth traycase. The chapbooks are short works by Richard Cowper, Fritz Leiber, Pamela Sargent, John Sladek, Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, and Roger Zelazny. Seven of the eight titles in the series were collected in this volume of the chapbooks. Cheap Street Press was a small publishing company operated by a husband and wife in New Castle, Virginia. They concentrated on limited edition science fiction and fantasy works, and their books were hand-printed and issued in copies of 50-200.

The Mountain Cage was printed on Linweave linen text. Seventy-five copies were handsewn into covers of Canson-Mi-Teintes with endpapers of handmade Misu tissue. They were enclosed in a dust wrapper of paper handmade from rag and wool in India. A Rhapsody in Amber was printed on #70 French Linen India text with hand-sewn signatures in #80 Simpson Teton Bronze covers. On Saint Hubert's Thing was printed on Gainsborough text sewn into Fabriano rag covers. Red Noise was printed on Gainsborough text. Ninety-nine ordinary copies were hand-sewn into wrappers of Strathmore Artlaid II cover with parchment endpapers. Ordinary edition copies were in printed envelopes. The signature plate is in Arches wove 160 gram paper, mould made of 100% rag in France by Arjomari. Quicks Around the Zodiac was printed on Strathmore Rhododendron text. Ninety-eight ordinary edition copies were handsewn into wrappers of Strathmore Rhododendron cover with Japanese silk tissue endpapers; these copies were slipped into printed envelopes of Talisman text. The Story of Pepita and Corindo was printed on Andorra text. Ninety-nine ordinary edition copies were handsewn into wrappers of Gainsborough with parchment endpapers. The signature plate is a rives de lin, a 75% rag and 25% linen paper mould made in France by Arjomari. The Unhappy Princess was printed on Andorra Chantilly text. Ninety-eight ordinary edition copies were handsewn into wrappers of Andorra Camel cover with parchment endpapers. The signature plate is Arches wove, a mould-made, 100% rag paper imported from Arjomari of France.
