Bound in a wide cream cloth spine stamped in an art deco gilt design. Pictorial paper covered boards to half of cover in branch and flowers printed in gilt and green against a subtle background stripe in faint grey and green. Top edge gilt. Binding represents a style which was extremely popular at the turn of the century, noted for white spines and repeating small flower patterns in calico-like cloth or paper - obviously marketed to the feminine buyer.
