Bound in dark blue vertical ribbed cloth, and stamped in gilt in an art nouveau border with a large, exaggerated sun, the center of which is a small sepia photo onlay of the author. Another onlay, in color, is a small rectangle, depicting an urban park at the turn of the century. The spine is a wonderful art nouveau long-stemmed sunflower. \

First edition, published June 1905. Flyleaf inscription: "From Harry Christmas 1906. Dear pappa: - Have not read this book, but as Skagit County may be cloudy at this time of the year, you may be able to see and feel a little sunshine in this book. Let me know if you do."
