The “Perfection A” is the first model of Perfection Wire Stitchers released by the J.L. Morrison Company, to meet increased demand for the printed work (caused by increasing literacy) and the needs of stationary binding. Unlike the later models which were powered by electricity, this one relied on hand or foot power, with a treadle and lever to create the wire stitch, or staple. This machine is inoperable, unlike the No. 6 in the Exhibit Hall. From the collection of Eric Holub.
