In an Old Hawaiian Garden: An Album of Hawaii's flowers / Don BlandingEntry/Object ID
2015.7.367Description
37 p., [16] plates : col. ill. (lithographs)
A now classic 1940s period piece-- a Hawaiian book of color floral lithographs by T.J. Mundorff. The tests is written by Don Blanding, and is signed "Aloha, Don Blanding" with a small ink bird drawing. The signature could be flat signed, though it doesn't appear to be. The third edition is the most desirable, as it was the first edition to have the text written (poems) by Blanding.
16 flowers are included with a lithograph and a brief verse for each.
Contents: Red Hibiscus -- Anthurium -- Bird of Paradise -- Torch Ginger -- Lehua Blossom -- Red Ginger -- Cattleya Orchid -- Plumeria -- White Ginger -- Wood Rose -- Heliconia -- Gardenia -- Ape -- Night Blooming Cereus -- Yellow Hibiscus -- Cup of Gold.Collection
