Newly abridged and adapted version of Algernon Bertram Freeman-Mitford’s original from 1871. Covers are dark orange paper with a brown tiger stripe pattern. Binding thread is red, and top and bottom of text block are covered in red paper. Title in Japanese on the front cover right side. Comes in a slipcase, covered in paper with dots of dark blue, medium blue, red, dark orange, and green. Background of the slipcase medium blue lines forming a grid pattern. Illustrated with wood engravings. Octavo, 24p. This is one of the 40 standard copies.
