Description

A mechanical figure made of wood, metal, and plaster. The lower half is a square box with doors, and the top half is a figure in the shape of a head, with hands. The interior contains mechanical workings, gears, and shafts.

Use

An illusion prop used in the stage shows of Harry Blackstone, Sr.

Context

The illusion known as "Golem" belonged to Harry Blackstone. The name derives from a Jewish legend of medieval times. The definition of the word is "an automaton made to resemble a human being and given life by a magic incantation".
