Context

Born Margaret Ruth Evans in White Rock, British Columbia in 1931, Celeste Evans began performing magic at nine years old. Celeste performed in carnival circuits throughout Canada until 1952 when she joined the Canadian Legion in entertaining troops in both Korea in Japan. Celeste also performed her solo acts on behalf of the Canadian Legion, the United Serivce Organization, and the United Nations throughout several countries around the globe. Celeste has performed on television several times, appearing in "the Ed Sullivan Show," "Paul Winchell," "Arthur Godfrey" and Canada's "Pick the Stars." Celeste was awarded the Best Magician trophy at Abbott's Magic Get Together in 1971, has been inducted into the Society of American Magicians Hall of Fame in 1998, and awarded the Performing Fellowship for Stage Magic from the Academy of Magic Arts in 2009. Celeste passed away in 2017.
