Name/Title

Golfer on Golf Ball Neon & Plastic Sign

Entry/Object ID

2004.0069.0001

Description

This sign is an excellent example of a sign that bridges the Neon and Plastic Eras because it has both types of illumination: backlit plastic and exposed neon. The sign shows a golfer atop a golf ball which originally identified a short nine-hole golf course at a Rochester, NY amusement park. Also, it originally was mounted on a pole and rotated. Unfortunately, the back half of the plastic golf ball was missing when the sign was acquired.
