Description

This large, double-faced porcelain enamel and neon sign for "United Pentecostal Church" is from the late 1940s. It was designed to project at a right angle from the original building, a church in Shreveport, LA. It has a single, bullnose-end, flat dark, subdued blue background with white border outlines in a stepped, Art Deco- and Streamline Modern-inspired pattern. The sign had been maintained for a long time by the donor, Nevels Signs & Awnings, although they were not the likely original maker of the sign.
