Dellwood Dairy Reverse Glass Point-of-Purchase Sign

Entry/Object ID

Description

Reverse glass, internally illuminated point-of-purchase sign reads, "Ask for Dellwood Dairy Milk-Cream."  Sign is stylized deco with four vertical stainless steel bands and radius corners, typical of late 1940s design. Sign belonged to the donor's father-in-law who worked for Dellwood Dairy.  He began as a milkman with a horse-drawn wagon, training new horses on their routes through the neighborhoods of New York City--mostly the Bronx and Brooklyn.  Donor's husband kept the sign after his father's passing.
