Double faced sheetmetal arrow has chasing lightbulb border around neon arrow. Sign was located on Vine Street in the Over The Rhine area of Cincinnati. This historic area is undergoing redevelopment and the sign was slated to be removed since the business had relocated. The entire sign was avaliable, but the main sign was too compromised--especially the cracked plastic faces-- to the salvageable. The museum opted only to accept the arrow. It was originally accompanied by a plastic-faced sign identifying the business. The complete sign was offered to the museum by 3CDC but the main identity was too deteriorated to restore. If we can’t display the entire sign, we definitely got the more memorable part: The lightbulbs “chase” the length of the 7-ft. arrow, which together with the neon tubes, makes quite a spectacle.Collection
