Description

This Wilson Motors sign is another example of the blade-style sign. When first created in about 1961, the sign read ‘Wilson’ in horizontal lettering across the top, and ‘Motors’ read vertically down the sign’s main body. For their 50th anniversary, Wilson Motors had the sign restored and added “since 1961” to the sign’s top banners. The hand-lettered addition added a balanced contrast to the block-font neon lettering. Acquired by the Museum in 2020, the sign underwent repairs to fix the mechanics of the yellow arrow’s flashing which was completed by NeonWorks of Cincinnati.
