Description

Moving a sign can be a logistical challenge, but this one has been all across Cincinnati. The Pohlman’s Pharmacy sign, created by Federal Sign, dates from 1956 when Charles Pohlman purchased the former Pfister drug store in the Madisonville neighborhood of Cincinnati. Pohlman moved the sign twice- once in 1971 to a rented location for a new pharmacy in Goshen, Ohio and then again in 1975 when he built a new permanent location across the street from the rented one. The sign remained in Goshen until the business closed in 2015 and moved one last time to its new home at the Museum. The sign is made up of neon, metal, flashing lightbulbs and hand-painted facing.
