Description

From about 1970, this sign used to hang on a restaurant on Walnut Street in downtown Cincinnati. When the restaurant closed, the new owners of the building it had been found the sign and donated it to the Museum. The sign is reminiscent of the tradition of colonial tavern signs which were usually quite simple in design, stating only the establishment's name and a modest symbol or icon. This sign is made from wood but has a decorative gold border. It states The Colony and it has a small panel hanging below the main face that states "Entrance in Lobby".
