This sign was once displayed in a 600-acre family farm clubhouse (formerly a tenant house), in Clear Spring Maryland. The clubhouse was used for picnics, riding, hunting, and informal parties, during the 1920s through 1950s. When the farm was passed to a cousin, Jane Flory Ankeney took the sign and put it inside the kitchen pantry at her house in Clear Springs. After Jane's passing, Jean Wood, Jane Ankeney's daughter, received the sign, hanging it in her house in Waynesboro, PA before gifting it to the American Sign Museum in memory of her mother.Collection
