Description

Double-faced, illuminated pole sign.

Context

This sign was originally located at 1209 Linn Street by the Regal Theater. Named after Lou Trohanis, this Greek family restaurant had three locations: Burnet Avenue, Elmore Street in Cumminsville, and this one on Linn Street. Lou's wife and three school-aged boys helped work the restaurant until about 1975. Lou passed in 1983, selling the restaurant to the night manager. By 1990 the restaurant had closed, yet the sign remained for another 30 years in its original location.
