Description

Metal tackle-box like kit with the addition of two metal boxes bolted to inside top of kit. Each box is hinged and held in place by a metal tab, which when depressed, allows the box to swing down on its hinges, thus allowing the lid to open. Inside the box are a variety of tools including goggles, plug-in soldering iron, various fittings for torches and burners, screwdriver, etc. The sign box belonged to Sam Geller, who was born in 1917 and worked at Triangle Signs in the late 1930s as a tubebender. He attended college while working at Triangle, studying electrical engineering. Upon graduation, Geller went to work for The Bendix Corp. on Joppa Road in Towson, MD. There he worked with the team of engineers which developed radar detectors for use in airplanes to detect incoming ground missiles.  He worked at Bendix until 1972 when the company merged with Raytheon and Allied Signal. Sam's son, Ira, owns Geller Lighting Supply--a major Baltimore area lighting distributor.
