Oil on canvas depicting a profile portrait of a teenage girl in a green checked blouse and green ribbon tying her hair in a pony tail. The young girl is facing the left. The background is painted in a gray-green tone with an indistinct riding ring and surrounding bleachers. To the right are two horses, one with a young woman riding side saddle in a green dress. (The background and horses/rider are very painted in a similar way to Toulouse-Lautrec's Circus drawings). The painting is signed and dated in black paint in the lower right corner "Stella Coler '53". On the verso of the stretcher written in pencil "Jury Award 3rd prize - Portraits in Oil" and in pencil "Mrs. T.C. Werbe Purchase Prize of 1954 Hoosier Salon".Type of Painting
