The City of Mahagonny

Name/Title

The City of Mahagonny

Entry/Object ID

1987.1.10

Description

The image is a dark, post-apocalyptic configuration of what appears to be toppled architectural structures with humanesque forms perched throughout the ruins. The color scheme is primarily browns, beiges, and umbers, though there is a significant representation of grays and blacks. The Upper one-third of the plane is a dark brown; through other visual information does exist beyond this color field, its definition is not clearly distinguishable. ULC there is a tall grey formation that, at first glance, appears to be a dress shirt with the arms missing. A human form is seated beneath this formation, another is to the left and below the first form, and two more human forms can be seen in LR.
