Painting of a large building, possibly a castle or church, sitting on a hillside along the right side of the painting. Hillside is looking over an area of water and some tall trees. The building is gray, with a tall white tower, and the right side is in a heavy, dark shadow. There are areas of land along the left side. Almost center are two tall, thin, trees with green leaves just at the top. The water is painted in grays with dark reflections throughout. The sky is painted in mauves and blues.
